Monday Morning Review 26 July 2021

Hi guys, i hope everyone is well (particularly my Sydney people). Whilst the metaphorical fire is burning all around us, i hope that my ramblings can provide a brief respite from the mundane realities of not being allowed to live normally. They do for me anyway.

How i am distracting myself this week.

The Lions Series

Physical, intense and passionate i loved everything about the first test. I have no idea who is going to come away with it, but watching giant humans beat the crap out of each other is essential viewing at the moment and  wonderful background noise to my ever growing Guinness consumption.

I started a Vlog

One of the positives that the current situation has given me is to increase my sense of urgency. We don’t live forever and if we want to do something then we better do it. I have wanted to create my own video for years. This week i did it and put out a Vlog.  The thinking behind it is to document the journey of me turning Wandering Bear Sports into what it is supposed to be.

Please make sure you subscribe to the channel. We are aiming for a thousand subscribers by the end of lockdown.

Blog series I’m enjoying.

My old mate and easily the most interesting human I’ve ever met Dan Palmer  has put out a series called Thoughts of the Human Mammal were he asks some deep questions to human beings from all walks of life. My favourite question is “ what question should i have asked you?”

Worth a read.

Advice I’m pondering

I’ve been getting a lot of well meaning advice lately, but i think the best advice i have had came from my friend and last weeks podcast guest Clint Hill.

“Mate you have to stop doing what you think you should be doing and start doing what you want to do.”

What i want to do is the million dollar question.

The Podcast we did together was a cracker

An important conversation.

This weeks podcast with Wallabies Mental performance coach Mr David Diggle is one of the most important conversations i have had doing this podcast. Mental performance is a theme that has come up over and over again with my guests and I wholeheartedly believe that the next great jump in athletic performance can come from a better understanding of the mind. There is some priceless info in this episode and I can’t wait to share it this Wednesday.

In the meantime check out Daves website and podcast series. It is excellent.
